Random Notes to Self:
  • Maddy developed a little tick tonight - a scratchy tick that seemed to be coming from the front plate with each active pedal stroke. Anybody have an ideas what it could be?
  • Succeeded in actually passing a few other cyclists on The Great Hill for once.
  • Central Park is full of athletic beasts; even as I passed a few slower cyclists on some of the hills, I was overtaken by a four-person line of rollerbladers who were gliding smoothly in sync when I was trudging along at 18 mph up a small hill.
  • Consider arrival of the cherry blossoms as official sign that spring has arrived in New York City.

Day: 5 (Friday)
Ride: Pace
Route: Flat
Scheduled Mileage: 13
Actual Mileage: 14.33
Average Speed: 13.8 mph*
Max Speed: 22.1 mph
*Includes city street speed average

Average BPM: 135
Max BPM: 173
Calories: 417

Random Notes to Self:
  • Maddy's scratchy front plate tick is gone; still not sure what it was on Thursday.
  • Switch from PowerBar energy bars to Clif Bar energy bars for upcoming long Saturday rides (more organic ingredients, less processed sugars), and from Pure Protein bars to Clif  Builder Bars for strength workouts (more organic ingredients, less processed sugars, no sugar alcohols).
  • See, Dad? This is the Hudson River in the evening. Lots of people. Not the stereotypical vacant, gloomy 1970s burial ground (err ... waters) of Jimmy Hoffa. Besides everyone knows he's under the Giants' endzone at the Meadowlands.
